Pretty rocky gaps in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico

Drilling or natural cenotes mostly consists result of the collapse of the limestone, which passes underneath groundwater. Because the Yucatan Peninsula is mainly composed of porous limestone is full of such sinkholes.

And so as a result of the rainfall, led to the erosion of the rock layers composed so very huge system of caves beneath the island Hst filled with mostly rain water or groundwater. There are about 7000 as a gap on the rocky land of the Yucatan Peninsula.

Some of the caves are too large to have attracted swimmers and divers from all over the world .. Some of the caves have been discovered arrived length of 100 km!

These caves filled with water in the rainy seasons, a very pure water with few impurities. Therefore turned most of these caves to the public for swimming pools.
